Recon report from today: The snowmobile trails out of Solon to Ely and over to Lake Macbride have a lot of exposed mud/grass and most of the snow is thin, densely packed and after this weekend, firm from the melting - crappy for snowmobiles in all but a few sections. I rode about 13 miles of trails including the multi use trail along Lake MacBride into Solon. It was in the low 30's temp wise. I was only sinking in slightly in a few sections and in one spot I had to get off and push the bike for about 20 feet. Otherwise the snow was firm and icy - but not slippery. Mostly there was a lot of water, mud and grit. Ride time was 1hr 30min. Total out and back time was 1 hr to stop for all these fine photos
Snowdrifters Trail map detail. Following the 4's. The multi use trail from Lake MacBride Park entrance to Solon is the section marked 4a along the bottom of the map.
